Arthur Minor

Arthur D. Minor, 74, of Vernon, beloved husband of Roseann (Provencher) Minor, passed away October 18, 2017, at Rockville General Hospital. Arthur fought a long courageous battle with cancer. Arthur was born in Ellington, the son of the late Thomas A. and Lucille (LaBrake) Minor. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps., and served in the Fleet Marine Force. He was a past Commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 241 of Tolland. a past member of the Connecticut Society of the Sons of the American Revolution, and a past member of Ionic 110, Masonic Lodge. Arthur was a member of Koasek Abenaki Tribe of Vermont. Arthur was very proud of his Ellington property. He was predeceased by his brothers; Robert Wiers and Elmer Wiers. He is survived by his sons; Craig S. and Guy D. and his wife Karen. His daughter; Melissa A. of New Hampshire, 10 grandchildren; Kelly, Brittany, Ryan, Mackenzie, Tyler, Zach, Kelsey, Cailey, Ben and Marissa. Four great- grandchildren; Gabriella, Troy, Logan, Adalind, his sisters; Carol Landry of Enfield, Diane Minor and Kathy Nieves of Vernon and His brother Raymond Wiers of Maine. Relatives and friends may join the family on Monday October 23, 2017 from 10am-12pm at Small & Pietras Funeral Home, 65 Elm st, Rockville, CT 06066. Burial will follow at Ellington Center Cemetery.
