Mamie Alene Nixson Porter, 95, of Clinton, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020. She was born December 26, 1924 in Aubrey, Texas to the late Joseph Edmond Nixson and Mamie Elizabeth Pugh. Mamie was a line worker for OK Processing and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed watching T.V. and enjoyed shows such as The Andy Griffith Show, ‘The Price is Right, Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Joyce Chapman of Clinton, Patricia Moidi and husband Larry of Olathe, Kansas, Scott Porter of Fort Smith, Arkansas, step-daughter, Dorren Hanes and husband Dave; grandchildren, Randy (Selvia) Chapman, Roddie (Christie) Chapman, LaDonna (Alan) Miles, Kandi Chapman, David Swanson, Christy (Tara) Swanson, Amy Wiese (Bryan), Kimberly Kirby (Jon), Angela Herbison (Clay), Rebecca Moildi; 15 great- grandchildren, 6 great great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and other family members. Mamie is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mamie Nixson, husband, George Allen Porter; siblings, Edmond Nixson, Mary Leek, Lorena, Alice, James, Joseph; son-in-law, Richard Chapman, stepchildren, Bonnie McGregor and George Porter. Service will be held Wednesday, February 12, 2020, 2:00 p.m. at the Fort Smith National Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to Clinton Funeral Service.
