Joseph F Russo

Joseph "Dodo" F. Russo, Jr. Of Worthington, formerly of Chesterfield, and Waltham, passed away early Sunday morning, January 1, 2017 at the Albany Medical Center. He was 74. Born in Lynbrook, NY to the late Joseph F. Sr. and Emilie (Bygot) Russo, he was raised in Waltham and was a Waltham High School graduate. Mr. Russo spent 20 years in Chesterfield, MA before settling in Worthington, MA in 2002. After High School Mr. Russo joined the Navy where he served honorably from 1961 to 1963. Joseph was an extremely talented woodworker and turned his hobby into a career. He worked as a custom craftsman for many years. He also loved animals, especially his cat Blackie. Joseph had an interest in Geology and at the age of 52 he entered Greenfield Community College to pursue a degree in Geology. He is survived by his loving children Stefanie (Russo) Fagan and her husband Chris of Waltham, Emmaline Ouellet of Lowell, and Amanda Ouellet-Russo of Chelmsford, his brothers John Russo and his wife Susan of Nashua, NH, and Jeffrey Russo of Waltham, his cherished grandchildren Kelsey, Christopher, Jr., Jaden, and Zoe, and his dear friend Brenda Savoie of Worthington, Ma. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours in celebration of Joseph's life at the Mary Catherine Chapel of Brasco & Sons, 773 Moody St., Waltham, will Friday from 5 - 8 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 8 p.m. Parking attendants will be on duty.
