Ruth Ellen Jones, 87

Ruth Ellen Jones, 87, of Ashland, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday morning, January 3, 2017 and is now reunited with her husband, Jay and her son, Frank.

Ruth was born October 18, 1929 in Salineville, Ohio to the late Wilford and Opal (nee Curry) Whitla.

She and her late husband Jay had owned and operated a trucking company.

In her younger years she moved to California where she lived for over 40 years. She returned to Columbiana County in 1995 and moved to Ashland in October of 2013.

She was married to Jay L. Jones on December 22, 1945, he preceded her in death.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth F. Lose of Malvern, PA; Sharin L (Arnold) Miller of Oroville, CA; Pamels R. (Steven) Walden of San Clemente, CA; Mary L. (Mark Deeter) Jones of Ashland; 17 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law Julie A. Jones of Marietta, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jay L. Jones; a son, Frank A. Jones and two sisters, Katherine Metzger and Dorothy Macarelli.

Interment will be in the Columbiana Memorial Park.
