William Goff

William Eugene “Bill” Goff, 83, of Pomona Park, passed from this life on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville following an extended illness. Born in McCall, Florida, he lived in Putnam County since 1983 coming from Englewood, Florida. Bill worked for 44 years as a bridge tender with several different railroads, the last being CSX Railroad. He was a member of the Church of God. In his leisure time, Bill enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Aurora Goff, a granddaughter, Denise Amber Lee, 3 brothers, Earl Goff, Michael “Mickey” Goff and Jack “Coke” Goff and 2 sisters, Nellie Jimerson and Margie Hancock. Bill is survived by 4 sons, Luther Eugene “Gene” Goff (Robin) of Englewood, Jake Milton Goff (Jeri) of Port Charlotte, David Earl Goff (Kathy) of Pomona Park and Richard Melvin “Rick” Goff (Susie) of Englewood, a daughter, Vicki Lynn Brown (Shawn) of Pomona Park, a brother, L.A. “Austin” Goff (Rose) of Arcadia, 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with Pastor John Miles officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill West Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of services at 11:00.
