Ana Avila

Ana M. Avila, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 16, 2017 at Lone Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. David Mackens officiating. She will be laid to rest at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Lone Oak Baptist Church. Ana entered into this life on June 3, 1934 in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico, daughter to the late Juan Gerena and Ana Abraham Castillo. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Francisco Avila Valle. Survivors include her son, Ronnie Martinez Avila; daughters, Ana Ivette Vega, Myrna Bain (Tony), Sylvia Yvonne Hodenpel (John), and Gilda Christine "Mita" Dicks (Kelly); brothers, Luis Gerena, Jose Vargas, and Tito Gerena; and special friend, Altagracia Custodio. She was the loving grandmother of Carlos and Ruben Vega, Eric and Stefan Hodenpel, and Kaija and Draven Owens; and great grandchildren, Ivelisse Vega and Madison Sophia Hodenpel.
