Sonya Joann Sloop Allen, 70 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away, Thursday, Feb. 6, at her residence. Mrs. Allen was born April 16, 1949 in Cabarrus County daughter of the late Edward E. Sloop and Hette Seamone Sloop. She was a retired textile worker and loved watching TV. She is survived by two daughters, Sherry Strube of Mt. Pleasant and Tammy Kincaid of China Grove; sister, Gloria Burgess; two grandchildren, one great grandchild and her beloved dog Oreo. No services are scheduled at this time.
