Shaaron Drayton

Our family is heartbroken to announce the sudden, but peaceful passing of Shaaron at her home on August 15, 2017. Shaaron was predeceased by her best friend and loving husband Bill in 1984, her father Bud Culley in 1988, and her mother Margaret Culley in 2013. She is survived by her brother Lorne (Yvonne) Culley and sister Vicki (Don) Wallace. A treasured “Auntie Shash” to nieces and nephews, Carrie, Matthew (Jeannie), Sarah (Derek), Aaron (Michelle), Mark (Sarah), and her great-nieces and nephews. Shaaron was born in Toronto in 1943 and moved to Oshawa in 1959 where she later began her 34-year teaching career. “Mrs. Drayton” was a passionate teacher who encouraged, loved, and inspired all her students when working at Adelaide McLaughlin P.S. in Oshawa and Dr. Robert Thornton P.S. in Whitby. She was a skilled artist who created collections of beautiful classic bears, porcelain dolls, and delicate needlework. Many will remember her incredible talents, generosity and unconditional love. Shaaron had an outstanding ability to make life-long friends and recognized the importance of staying connected with others who were special to her, near and far. Her overwhelming kindness and supportive nature will always be remembered and cherished by family and friends. She will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Gerrard Road, Whitby, Ontario L1N 3K4.
