Constance Chandler Vancouver, Washington July 9, 1943 ~ February 6, 2020 Born on July 9, 1943 to Mr. & Mrs. Benjamin Chandler Jr, Constance Jean was raised in Coos Bay, Oregon as a 4th generation Chandler and passed away February 6, 2020 in Vancouver Washington. Connie graduated from Marshfield High in 1961 after spending one year at the Bishop's School in La Jolla, California. After high school, Connie graduated from the Oregon College of Education in Monmouth, Oregon and began a career in social work. With a passion for travel, Connie open the SST Travel School franchise in Anchorage. She shared her love of travel with friends and family, always offering an open invitation to visit her in Alaska. Those who knew and loved Connie appreciated her wry sense of humor, her warm smile and the lingering scent of Tabu. Connie’s true loves were her pets, playing bridge and cooking for friends and family. She was an active volunteer in the Rotary Clubs of Portland and Anchorage and at the local libraries in the young readers programs. As a Master Gardener, Connie’s yard was always busy with many projects. Connie was preceded in death by her brothers, Ben Chandler III, Bainbridge Is., WA and David Chandler, Hansville, WA. Connie is survived by her brother, Don Chandler of North Bend, Oregon. Donations of remembrance can be made to the Oregon Humane Society in her name.
