Patrick Allen Pat Thompson, 67of Henderson, KY passed away Thursday December 10, 2015 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital in Owensboro, KY. He was born in Henderson, KY on April 28, 1948 to Pauline (Brack) Thompson and the late Duron Leon Thompson. Pat was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. He started his career with the Henderson Police Department in 1969 as a dispatcher. In 1980 he was promoted to Department head and started the Emergency 911 Center for Henderson. He remained as Department Head of the 911 Communications Center and also the department head of the Henderson Area Rapid Transit . He spent 27 years of devoted service until he retired due to his health. Pat was an amateur HAM radio operator and was licensed and certified to administer testing. He wanted to be able to assist with emergencies if needed in Henderson. He was former president of PCMA where he also served on the board of directors and coached for 20 years. He was honored by having a field named after him. Pat also started the Challenger League for children with mental and physical disabilities. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a sister and brother. He is survived by his companion Linda Adkins of Henderson, KY Mother; Pauline Thompson of Henderson,KY 3 children; Brian Thompson of Sebree, KY Chris Thompson of Sturgis, KY and Ali Timmons of Henderson, KY. Brothers and sisters; Jackie (Beryl) Thompson of Cairo, KY, Steven (Patty) Thompson of VA, Randy (Sandy) Thompson of Robards, KY, Stanley Thompson of Henderson, KY, Kathy (Henry) Hancock of Morganfield, KY, Linda (Rodney) Epley of Sebree, KY, 4 grandchildren; Christian Melton, Kiersten Thompson, Brendon Thompson and C. J. Thompson. 1 Great grandchild Services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday December 14, 2015 at Tomblinson Funeral Home Henderson Chapel. Father J. Edward Bradley will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM and Monday 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
