Christine Vossberg

Christine M. Vossberg quietly passed away on Thursday, January 30th after an extended battle with cancer. She was born in Fussen, Germany to Charles and Rose McDearmont, who preceded her. Raised in Texas and Daytona Beach where she met her future husband, Carl A. Vossberg. Together they have two children, Charelle Burgess (Jon) and CA Vossberg (Shannon), and two grandsons, Jon R. and August T. Christine was a graduate of Mainland Sr. High and Lake Technical College. She has also attended Lake-Sumter State College. She was past president of the Umatilla Garden Club and a member of Delta Rho Sorority and Phi Beta Lamba, where she won numerous national awards. She was also a board member of the Umatilla Historical Society, an Amateur Radio Operator (HAM), a SCUBA diver, and a private pilot with instrument rating. Flying was a passion and she pursued her license late in her life. She was a retired bookkeeper and served as a corporate secretary of Electron Machine Corp. Christine was also a certified Health Fitness Instructor where she made hundreds of lifelong friends. She loved the outdoors, wildlife, and her many rescued pets, but most of all her children and grandsons. A private interment at the Umatilla Cemetery Annex followed by a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 8th at 40351 Babb Road from 2:00-4:00pm for family, friends, and well-wishers.
