Raimo Hakkinen
Raimo Jaakko Hakkinen, PhD, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2019. Born on February 26, 1926 in Helsinki. Son of the late Jalmari and the late Lyyli Hakkinen (nee Mattila); husband of the late Pirkko (nee Loyttyniemi); father of Bert and Mark Hakkinen; dear grandfather and great-grandfather. Raimo served with Finnish Air Force then came to the United States with his family in 1949 and naturalized in 1960. In 1954 he became a Doctor of Philosophy in Aeronautics cum laude at the California Institute of Technology. He worked at McDonnell Douglas Research Laboratories as the Director of Flight Science Research. Services to be held in Raimo’s homeland of Finland. www.boppchapel.comObituary
