Larry Jay Whaley age 75, of the Grave Hill Community, departed this life on Friday, January 24, 2020 at his home. He was born November 5, 1944 in Sevierville, Tennessee to the late Lon Whaley, Sr. and Edith Mae Campbell Whaley. He was a Member of the New Haven Baptist Church. Larry was a Deacon at the New Haven Baptist Church from 1985 until present. He was ordained with his father, Lon Whaley, Sr. Larry was also a board member for Citizens Gas Board, and he was a dad, paw, loving husband, outstanding man to his church and community and always had a smile for everyone that he knew and met. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Charlene Whaley Phillips; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Dillard and Janice Crabtree, Carl Davis, Roy Lee Phillips, Morris Ballard and Donna Whaley; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Elza and Amy Davis. He is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Linda Ellen Whaley; children, Robert J. Whaley and wife Judy, Douglas Scott Whaley, Aimie Nichole Duncan and fiancé Nathan Massengale; (10) grandchildren, Tara Nichole Whaley, Christa Jade Gray and husband Zeke, Olivia Faith Whaley, Douglas Trey Whaley and fiancé Makayla Ellis, Chelsea Lashae Whaley and fiancé Brandan Carson, Isaiah Ridge Whaley, Elijah Gage Whaley, Dustin Laramie Dodge Duncan, Micah Duncan, Rilee Rain Duncan; (1) great grandchild, Ziya Amaryllis Gray; with a great grandchild on the way; brother, Lon Whaley, Jr,. and wife Donna; sisters, Joan Stonecipher, Shirley Terry and husband Cliffton, Johnnie Schenck, Linda Phillips, Pat Trent and husband Roy; brother-in-law, Gary Davis; sisters-in-law, Kathy Reahard and husband Charlie, Barb Webster, Kay Slusher and husband Sonny; special care giver, Stasha Strunk; many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. The family will receive friends for visitation from 4:00 P.M., until time of funeral service at 7:00 P.M., Monday evening, January 27, 2020, in the Chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Oneida, with Bro. Greg Jeffers, Bro. Ricky Massengale and Roger Russell officiating. Music will be provided by John Vernon Thompson, Jr. Graveside service will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday morning, January 28, 2020 in the Cooper Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Trey Whaley, Isaiah Whaley, Dodge Duncan, Micah Duncan, Elijah Whaley, Nathan Massengale, Zeke Gray, Brandan Carson. Honorary pallbearers will be Lon Whaley, Jr., Barry Davis, Lee Crabtree, Chris Smith, Mike Leingang.
