LARRY TUCKER COX FUNERAL HOME BASTROP, LOUISIANA Memorial services celebrating and honoring the life of Larry Tucker will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Bastrop. Bro. John McGregor and Bro. Joey Kennedy will officiate the services and John Reynolds will share family remembrances. Following the services the family will receive friends for a time of fellowship at the funeral home. Larry Van Tucker was born September 1, 1950 at Ferriday, Louisiana and he passed away following a brief illness at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his parents Garland Tucker and Elizabeth Hollis Tucker and his wife Jane Reynolds Tucker. Larry was a member of New Life Church of God, a retired millwright with Pulp Mill Services, and a devoted and loving husband and father. He was a 1968 graduate of Ferriday High School where he was an accomplished athlete. He held numerous school records in track and field for many years. Larry enjoyed the outdoors especially deer hunting and tending to his granddaughter's horses. He enjoyed creating many wonderful memories with his family and friends. In a final act of concern for others, Larry donated his corneas so that someone else might receive the gift of sight. Mr. Tucker is survived by three sons, John Reynolds, Terry Cortney Winkler and wife Laura, and Jason Murphy and wife Heather. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Madison Winkler, Cortlin Winkler, Lara Jane Winkler, Tucker Winkler, Emma Grace Winkler, Shelby Murphy, Gavin Murphy, and Kenzie Muphy; two great-grandchildren, Robert Doyon and Kendall Wimberly; two sisters, Diane Kirkland and husband Charles and Annette Foster and husband David; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.
