He enjoyed a long, happy and fiercely independent life in retirement in spite of near total hearing and vision loss that would render most others unable to do so. He was famous among family and friends as a fixer. Almost nothing was ever broken that he could not refabricate and repair for months or years more use. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. He is survived by his children: Michael Potbury (Renee Harrison) of Flint, Katherine (Jeff) Harrington of Clio, Richard (Tonie) Potbury of Millington, and Rebecca (Scott) Reda of Roscommon; 10 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; Brother, William (Mary) Potbury of Flushing. He was preceded in death by his parents; Long-time companion, Fern Sammon; Granddaughter, Julie Mahoney; Sister, Shirley Lynch, and Son, Ricky.
