Ruth Caroline Morelock

Mrs. Ruth Caroline Morelock, daughter of John and Thelma Davis Freisthler, was born, April 1, 1927 in Botkins, Ohio. She departed this life, Thursday, January 23, 2020, in Conway Regional Hospital, Conway, Arkansas at the age of ninety-two years, nine months and twenty-two days. On January 3, 1949 in Botkins, Ohio, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Don Edward Morelock and together they shared over fifty years of marriage until his passing on December 26, 2003. To this union, they were blessed with seven children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her infant daughter, Janet; her parents and her three brothers, Howard Freisthler and wife Margaret, Gene Freisthler and wife Betty and William Freisthler. Survivors include her children, Gary Morelock and wife Sharon of Macks Creek, Missouri, Janice Clopp and husband Carlon of Macks Creek, Missouri, Donna Young of Greenbreir, Arkansas, Phyllis Trulove and husband Robert of Macks Creek, Missouri, Michael Morelock of Macks Creek, Missouri and Jill Morelock and companion Terri Snyder of Lebanon, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Laura, Luke, Leanna, Melissa, Virginia, Joann, John, Shawn and Forrest; nine great-grandchildren, Joshua, Olivia, William, Sophia, Hayden, Hunter, Jenna, Aurora and Olivia; one great-great-grandson Gavin; her sister, Lois Monnin and husband Mark of Russia, Ohio; her sister-in-law, Mary Freisthler of Dayton, Ohio and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Ruth was raised in Botkins, Ohio and graduated High School there. She was working at the Spot in Sidney, Ohio and that is where she met Don, the love of her life. She followed him from Ohio to Missouri in 1959, then to South Dakota, Halfway and then they made their home in Macks Creek. Ruth was a stay at home mom until her children were grown. When her children arrived home from school, she would always have treats such as cake, pie, cookies ready for them. Don and Ruth, loved to travel. They made frequent trips to Ohio and a long trip to Alaska which was especially memorable. Together they enjoyed the St. Louis Cardinals and their McDonald’s coffee. Ruth learned to drive and got her driver’s license and started work at a cedar novelty business in Camdenton and later she worked at a nursing home, and at Windermere, where she made many friends. Her favorite jobs were at Wee Care with Ms. Susie, Alice, Cecelia and all the children and Macks Creek School which was her final job. She loved the staff at both Wee Care and Macks Creek School and they loved her also. She was well into her eighties at this time. After that, she spent enjoyable days with her daughter Donna and family in Arkansas where she passed away. Ruth loved her church and was a faithful lifelong member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Camdenton and attended until her health prevented her from doing so. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, canning and baking for her family. Her pies and chicken noodle soup were famous. Ruth loved music. She played the keyboard and had a beautiful voice. She enjoyed listening to classical music. Ruth was a loving godly woman and has touched many lives of both the adults and children whom came to know and love her. We all will never forget Ruth, and will treasure the many memories that she blessed us with. Everyone learned from her what kindness is all about. We truly celebrate her life. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 28, 2020 in St. Anthony Catholic Church, Camdenton, Missouri. Burial will follow in Macks Creek Cemetery, Macks Creek. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Monday evening, January 27, 2020 in the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Kid’s Harbor and left at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
