Roger K. Poffenberger, age 69, of Janesville, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2020, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Janesville. He was born in Beloit on August 3, 1950, the son of Wayne W. and Edith V. (Smestad) Poffenberger. Roger was employed his entire career with Beloit Corp until it closed. He enjoyed watching John Wayne and Gunsmoke and listening to Country Western Music. He was an avid football fan, especially the Wisconsin Badgers. Roger is survived by 2 children; Tanya (Dylan) North and Lee Poffenberger of Janesville; 7 grandchildren: James Poffenberger, Brandon Poffenberger, Christopher (fiancé, Katie) Utzig, Kimberly Utzig, Alexander Utzig, Tabitha Utzig and Joslynn North; 2 great grandchildren; Scarlett and Sammy; companion, Diana Darwin; step grandson, Branson Wyatt Fitzgerald; 6 siblings: George (Beverly) Poffenberger, Gerald (Barb) Poffenberger, Karen Givens, Phyllis (Darryl) Williams, Denis (Chris) Poffenberger and Robert Poffenberger; and other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers: Phillip, Kenneth and Curtis Poffenberger. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 24, 2020, at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH FUNERAL HOME, Janesville with Rev. Jerry Amstutz officiating.
