Funeral services for Ellene Woodard Reddick, 78 of Cordele, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Christ Episcopal Church in Cordele. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the church Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m. Ellene passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at Capital Regional Medical Center in Tallahassee, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband, Graydon Dennis Reddick, Jr. She was born in Hazlehurst, the daughter of the late Jesse Cecil and Evelyn O'Quinn Woodard. She was a teacher (RET) in the Crisp County School System. She loved her friends and her church family at Christ Episcopal Church where she was always very active. She was an avid reader, especially her Bible and enjoyed gardening and working in her yards. Ellene was an animal lover and adored all her pets, one being her dog, DeeDee. Most important to her though was her family and the time that she was able to spend with them. She is survived by three children, Skip Reddick of Colbert, Leigh Long and her husband, Troy of Valdosta and Scott Reddick of Cordele; her siblings and their spouses, Harriet and Jackie Clark of Hazlehurst, Cecile and George Flanders of Lancaster, SC and Jay and Sue Woodard of Hazlehurst; and four grandchildren, Caroline Prine and Brooklyn Prine, both of Valdosta and Allie Caroline Long and Anna Claire Long, both of Blackshear. The family suggests that any memorial donations be made to Christ Episcopal Church of Cordele, 619 East 15th Avenue, Cordele, GA 31015. They may be contacted at the Reddick family residence, 705 East 31st Avenue, Cordele, GA.
