Remembering Stanley Stanley Smith, community member of Sun City Arizona completed his journey on the morning of December 29, 2019. The son of James and Lester Mae (Coleman) Smith, Stanley was born in Little Rock Arkansas September 8,1949 and in what was to be a theme in his journey lived in several states before completing his formative years in Oceanside, California, San Diego County. Stanley, always a sharp dresser, articulate, personable, and of strong mind considered becoming a court stenographer but life and country directed him elsewhere. Stanley did many things in life: • A soldier and Vietnam veteran • Lead singer in a popular local band, "QT & the Roadrunners" • Avid Warriors fan and high school football player • Truck driver and professional mover • Community College Program Graduate • Church usher • Recreational golfer (which he truly enjoyed!) • Motorcycle rider (state to state to state....) He leaves behind two sisters, Evelyn and Wanda, a brother, Brett, daughter and son, Andria and Lewis, cousins local, cousins Detroit and Las Vegas, nieces, nephews, cherished golf buddies in Phoenix as well as Southern California, cherished neighbor, dear college friendships, colleagues, and "in life" mates near and in Nebraska. On behalf of his family, and there are too many to call out individually, thank you for caring for Stanley and bringing him so much unmistakable joy. He had an army caring for him! While he is already greatly missed, it is with great thanks we are reminded that he is now at rest, his journey was full of unbelievable good, and he is in the Father's house. (John 14:1-3)
