Sherry Lynn Gilbert

Sherry Lynn Gilbert, 57, from Nason, Illinois, passed away on January 2, 2020 at Saint Louis University Hospital in Saint Louis, Missouri due to injuries sustained in a one vehicle accident near Bonnie, Illinois. She was born on July 27th, 1962 to the late Randall Gilbert and Gloria Ashley. Sherry attended Waltonville High School and graduated from Loara High School in Anaheim, California. Her family later moved to Fullerton, California and she returned to Jefferson County in 2014. She worked in the telecommunications industry for more than 20 years and was a commercial driver for a local family farm. She enjoyed music and being with friends, but Sherry's greatest joy in life were her children and grandchildren who will miss her dearly. Sherry is survived by her sister, Dawn Hayes; three children, daughters April Fritz and Amber Leveque, and son Alec Pearcy; and 5 grandchildren. Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and stepfather, Robert Ashley. Sherry's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Jefferson County Fire Department, Litton Ambulance Services, and the local duck hunters who assisted at the accident scene. There will be no public services held at this time. Memorials may be made in Sherry's honor to the Gilbert family, in care of April Fritz.
