Frances Hughes

Frances Hughes, age 89, of Point Cedar, died Monday, December 30, 2019. She was born on January 30, 1930, in Point Cedar, the daughter of William Dan Harrison and Dora Belle Partridge Harrison. She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Carver Vaughan; her second husband, Doyle Hughes; her son-in-law, Douglas Brock; and eleven brothers and sisters. Frances was a member of Point Cedar United Methodist Church. She retired after working for many years at National Rejectors Company. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John Larry and Linnie Vaughan of Hot Springs and Dr. John C. and Dr. Karen Vaughan of Del Mar, California; one daughter, Sharon Brock of Hot Springs; six grandchildren, John Calvin Brock, Kathy L. and Brad Newton, Kellie and James Sturm, Kimberly Comeaux, Scott Carver Vaughan and Jill Vaughan; eight great-grandchildren, Kayla Ballard, Sarah Heller, Nate Newton, Connor Goodson, Cameron Goodson, Payton Sturm, Sydney Comeaux and Garrett Comeaux; one great-great-grandson, Atti Ballard; a special niece, Dora Ellen Sue Branstetter; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 4, 2020, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Bro. Adam Newlin officiating. Interment will be in Wesleyan Cemetery, Point Cedar. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Friday evening. Pallbearers will be Clayton Branstetter, J.D. Burton, Brad Newton, James Sturm, Halston Ballard, Connor Goodson, Cameron Goodson and Garrett Comeaux. Honorary pallbearers will be Elite Hospice, Cendi Hall, Dr. John Bond, Larue Hall, Nate Newton, Terry Branstetter, Dora Ellen Sue Branstetter, Brian Branstetter, Danny Burton, Colton Swan and the Hughes family.
