George W Addis

Edmore-George W. Addis, age 91, of Sheridan passed away at his home on December 30, 2019. George was born in Sheridan on September 5, 1928, the son of Arthur Jay and Bertha (Root) Addis. He was raised in the Sheridan area where he attended school. George married Elizabeth Rose Jeffrey on April 9, 1953 at her parent’s house in Fenwick. He was very proud to be a farmer his whole life. He was also employed at Extruded Metals in Belding until his retirement in 1993. George enjoyed farming, camping, traveling and especially spending time with his family. George is survived by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth; his two sons, Wayne (Teresa) Addis of Sheridan, John Jay (Katina Klock) Addis, of Stanton; two daughters, Rose Marie Zerbst of Sheridan, Linda (Glenn) Johnston of Sheridan; 10 grandchildren, Angelica (Anthony), Candice (Bill), Nicole (Jason), Jennifer (Stan), Tim, David, Daniel, Jacob, Zack, Stephanie (Richard); 16 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary Jones of Fenwick. He was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey B.; one infant daughter, Beth Ann; his parents; and a brother Neal Addis. Funeral Services for George will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the Community of Christ Church, 814 E. Coffren St. in Greenville, MI.
