Robert Lee "Bob" Center, 49, of Pekin, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2016 in rural Rochford, South Dakota. He was born December 22, 1966 in Dayton, Ohio to Wendell Lee and Ruth Joyce (McCorkle) Center. His father preceded him in death. Surviving are his mother and step-father, Ruth and Rev. H. Gerald Rudd of Indianapolis, Indiana; two daughters, Bailey Alexis Center and Breanne Elizabeth Center, both of Pekin; one sister, Debra "Debby" (Tom) Kinney of Pekin; one brother, James (Michele) Rudd of Greenwood, Indiana; one half-sister, Courtney Tygret of Ohio; one half-brother, Wendell Center, Jr. of Ohio; and grandmother, Pearl Shuey of Ohio. Bob was employed at Keystone Steel and Wire Company in Bartonville for the past 23 years, where he worked in the rod mill. He was an active member of the Independent Steelworkers Alliance in Bartonville. Bob enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing in pool leagues, and riding his motorcycle. His greatest joy was being with his friends and family especially his daughters. He was a fan of the Minnesota Vikings. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, Illinois. Pastor Mike Ebert will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
