Juanita Greer Auman, 91, of Aberdeen passed away early Wednesday (Aug 3, 2016) at her home.

A memorial service will be held at Page Memorial United Methodist Church in Aberdeen on Saturday August 6th, 11 A.M., followed by graveside at Bethesda Cemetery and reception afterwards.

Juanita's family moved from Rocky Mount, VA to West End, NC when she was teenager. She was a graduate of West End High School and after graduating she was asked by her principal to fill a teaching position which she accepted. Juanita soon married into the peach family as she tied the knot with Raymond Auman from West End. They soon started a family with the birth of their son Andy and she became a devoted farm wife and mother. Several years later her sister and brother-in-law passed away leaving a young family, and Juanita and Raymond took over guardianship of their 4 children, raising them on their farm near Aberdeen. Juanita spent her career as the head administrative secretary for the Pinehurst Surgical Clinic where she retired. She always said that she kept the doctors on track and on their toes while she was there. She loved to garden and was an avid birdwatcher. She was a member of the Walter Hines Page Book Club, the Aberdeen Home and Garden Club, and Cardinal Book Club. Juanita was a very classy lady with a great sense of humor and she respectively give her honest opinion on any matter, so you would always know where she stood. She was a wonderful, accepting, and loving woman.

Juanita was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years Raymond Auman; sisters Hazel Blackwelder, June Greer, Virginia Wilder, and Margaret Kane; and brother French Greer. Surviving are her son Andy Auman and her daughter-in-law Vickie. Sean and Cindy Kane of Sanford, Nancy Berliner of Sanford, Dana Kane of New York, and Kevin and Tom Skolnicki of Raleigh. Grandchildren: Chris Auman of Pinehurst, Kelly Auman and (fiancé) Will Jacobs of Aberdeen; Ryan and Erin Berliner of Chapel Hill, Justin Kane of Sanford, Katie and Adam Yarborough of Cameron; Great Grandchildren Boston Yarborough and Tobin Berliner; Sister Ruth Wilson of Savannah; Brothers John W. Greer of Aberdeen and Richard L. Greer of Emory VA.
