Mildred Louise McClelland, 86, of Houston, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015. She was born December 21, 1928 in Sabine County, Texas, daughter of John Henry and Hessie Williams. After graduating from Brookeland High School valedictorian, Mildred was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell until she started her family. She professed her faith during the early years of her home church, BPBC. She was a VBS teacher, a Sunday school teacher for the Golden Circle Class for many years, and she volunteered to drive the elderly to their doctor’s appointments. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Earl “Babe” McClelland. She is lovingly survived by her children, Ennis Earl “Mack” McClelland and his wife, Freda, Johnnie Hubert “Pat” McClelland and his wife, Janet, Catherine Gail “Cathy” Hopkins, Cynthia Lynn “Cindy” Langdon and her husband, Dale; brothers, Kermit Williams, Randall Williams and sister, Pauline “Polly” Gilbert; grandchildren, Tina, Toni, Chris and Clarissa, John Eric and wife, Jayme, Johnnie and wife, Kristy, Ronnie and wife, Lisa, Bradley, April and husband, Bruce, Scott and wife, Amy; great-grandchildren, Brittney, Blaine, Daniel, Crislyn, Hanna, Hailey, Colt, Case, LeAnn, Dylan, Meagan, Kyle, Daniel, Angel, Kaitlyn, Trevor, Justin, Trinity, Ella, Paige, and BJ. On Tuesday, May 26, 2015, visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m with the service to follow at 10:00 a.m. at Beaumont Place Baptist Church, 13101 Ivydale, Houston, Texas 77049.
