<p>Karen Sue Jobst, 75, of Paris, Illinois, passed away at 9:25 a.m. Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Horizon Health Paris Community Hospital. She was a retired rural mail carrier for the Paris Post Office.</p><p><br></p><p>She was born December 18, 1950, in Paris, the daughter of the late Lester O. “Curly” and Julia E. (Mann) Dailey. She married J. Spencer Jobst on November 29, 1980, in Vermilion, Illinois. He preceded her in death on April 28, 2022.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include four children, Rosemary (Russ) Puzey of Fairmount, Illinois, J. Andrew (Bridget) Jobst of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Amanda (Doug) Repp of Casey, Illinois, and Emily (Jerry) Watson of Williamsport, Indiana; a brother, Mark Dailey of Paris; nineteen grandchildren, Darren (Ashley) Powell, Dede (Jack) Childress, Dayne (Hannah) Powell, Michele (Joe) Nitkiewicz, Patrick (Camellia) Jobst, Kevin Jobst, Erin (Alex) Brown, Fr. Jack Jobst, Daniel Jobst, Anna Jobst, Joseph Jobst, Margaret Jobst, Clare Jobst, Kara (Tyler) Smith, Kaleb (Victoria) Repp, Kennedy (Blayne) Spittler, Avah Watson, Jax Watson, and Graham Brooks; and twenty great-grandchildren, with another great-grandchild due in September. She was preceded in death by an infant sister, Jane Ann Dailey, and an infant great-granddaughter, Annmarie Brown.</p><p><br></p><p>Mrs. Jobst was an active member of the Gamma Delta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority for many years. Karen was outgoing but private, intelligent, and had a great wry wit and sense of humor. She loved traveling, drives in her convertible, good novels, outlaw country music, and crafting. She was also an excellent seamstress and cook. Karen centered her life on the people she loved most and was a model of sacrificial love. She will be remembered as a devoted daughter, a faithful wife, and a proud and loving mother and grandmother.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p>For those who wish, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Paris Carnegie Public Library.</p><p><br></p><p>SERVICE INFORMATION</p><p><br></p><p>Graveside services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2026, at Vermilion Cemetery, with Fr. Jack Jobst officiating. Visitation was from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Sunday at Templeton Funeral Home. Casket bearers were Andrew Jobst, Mark Dailey, Jerry Watson, Doug Repp, Darren Powell, Patrick Jobst, and Kevin Jobst. Honorary casket bearers were Dayne Powell, Kaleb Repp, Jax Watson, Daniel Jobst, Joseph Jobst, Russ Puzey, Jack Childress, and Tyler Smith.
