<p>Anne-Marie Smith of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital, with her children at her side, on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, in her 82nd year. </p><p><br></p><p>Annie was born in Preston, Ontario, on September 8, 1944, a daughter to David and Madge (Fischer) Garibaldi and older sister to Angela (Bob) Benedetti. Annie’s younger years were spent with her much beloved grandparents and multitude of Fischer and Garibaldi cousins.</p><p><br></p><p>She was the beloved wife of the late Ted Smith (2012), and Mom to David and Debbie Senek, and Krista and Kevin Denstedt. Loved Grandma Annie to Brooke (Brandon), Kayley (Daniel), Lauren, Matt, and Joel (Megan), and great-grandma to Ryder.</p><p><br></p><p>Annie’s love of music and singing brought her great joy and experiences in both wedding singing and the operatic society, and in later years, with Music Alive in Listowel. </p><p><br></p><p>Mom had a number of bookkeeping jobs throughout her career, but she truly excelled in cooking, home making, and entertaining, where she was most often the entertainment!</p><p><br></p><p>Countless weekends at the cottage, both at Whiskey Harbour and Lurgan Beach, brought many great memories. She loved animals and always rooted for the underdog.</p><p><br></p><p>Her family expresses their thanks to Mom’s longtime friends, her PSW caregivers, and the Listowel Memorial Hospital. Mom was able to live at home until the end.</p><p><br></p><p>Private family arrangements with interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel, entrusted to the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial donations to Listowel Memorial Hospital would be appreciated. </p><p><br></p><p><br></p>September 8, 1944 - May 19, 202609/08/194405/19/2026
