<p><p>Barbara Jean Parks King, a beloved sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on June 27, 1939, in Randolph County, she spent her final days surrounded by loved ones at the Randolph Hospice House.</p><p>Barbara embarked on a fulfilling career with Sears, dedicating many years to serving the communities of Greensboro and Asheboro as a skilled cashier and sales representative. Her dedication to her work and her ability to connect with people made her a cherished colleague and friend to many.</p><p>An avid bird lover, Barbara found joy in watching cardinals and capturing their beauty through her drawings. She also delighted in completing word searches. Above all, Barbara treasured the time she spent with her nieces and nephews, whom she lovingly considered her "children." Her sense of humor and ability to bring a smile to those around her will be dearly missed.</p><p>She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Terry King; her parents, Ervin and Nettie Lucas Parks; her sister, Kathy Ingram; and her brother, Larry Parks.</p><p>Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter through her surviving family: her sisters, Brenda Smith of Greenwood, SC; Dean Parrish of Harrisburg, NC; Marilyn Auman of Greensboro; Deborah Albright of Asheboro; and her brother, Danny Parks of Pelzer, SC. She will also be missed by her many nieces and nephews, whose lives were enriched by her presence.</p><p>A visitation will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026, from 1:00 to 1:45 p.m. at Loflin Funeral Home. A memorial service, officiated by Rev. Ricky Sessoms, will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Loflin Chapel.</p><p>Barbara's warmth, humor, and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
