<p>Rita Jean Kelly Farley, 83, widow of Damon E. Farley, gained her wings and went home on Saturday, April 25, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Paul Franklin Kelly, Sr. and the late Mary Evelyn Darnell Farley. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, John Albert “Johnny” Kelly.</p><p><br></p><p>She will be missed and remembered by her daughter, “Ann” Annette Farley McGuire (Sam Widener – “the son I never had”); grandchildren, Brandy McGuire (Tommy Bishop), Marcia Farley, Terry McGuire (Kristina); great-grandchildren, Connor Bishop and Landon Bishop; brother, Paul Franklin “Frankie” Kelly, Jr. (Lyn); sister, Brenda Joyce Kelly Moore.</p><p><br></p><p>Rita was a member of Fort Lewis Baptist Church in Salem and was retired. She always had a close relationship with all of her sisters-in-law.</p><p><br></p><p>Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 2:00 pm at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, 5500 Bagging Plant Road, Dublin, VA.</p><p><br></p><p>A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2026 from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Pavilion at Fort Lewis Baptist Church, 4215 West Main Street, Salem, VA 24153.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial donations may be made to the Roanoke County Special Olympics at <a href="//www.specialolympicsva.org/southwest-region/area-8" title="Roanoke County Special Olympics">www.specialolympicsva.org/southwest-region/area-8</a></p><p><br></p><p>Online condolences may be sent to www.simpsonfuneral.com</p><p><br></p>
