<p>Elmer Joseph McClain was born on November 11, 1942 to Elmer Timothy and Grace (McDonnell) McClain in Clinton, Iowa. </p><p>Elmer worked as a machinist for IH Farmall until their closing, then he transferred to their sister company, Navistar, where he worked until he retired in 1997.</p><p>Elmer was a lifetime member of the Doric Lodge #319 in Moline, Illinois, the Shriners, and the Scottish Rite where he earned a 32nd degree. Once he moved to Arizona, he became a member and ordained deacon for the Community of Christ Church in Mesa, Arizona. </p><p>Elmer will be remembered as a practical joker and mischief maker who loved to laugh and help others as much as he could.</p><p>He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, aunts, uncles, 4 nieces, 1 nephew, and numerous cousins. </p><p>Elmer is survived by his sister Jaclyn (Greg) Euler, brother Eli McClain, Jr., 19 nieces and nephews as well as numerous cousins. </p><p> </p>November 7, 1942 - February 13, 202611/07/194202/13/2026
