<p>Yvonne Marie Gaber</p><p>Yvonne Marie Gaber, age 80, passed away peacefully at her home in Clinton Township, Michigan, on January 1, 2026, leaving behind a life rich in love, generosity, adventure, and friendship.</p><p>Born on December 22, 1945, in Detroit, Michigan, to Ken and Madeline DeChant, Yvonne was deeply devoted to her family and formed lifelong friendships wherever she went. She was known for her kindness, caring disposition, and genuine interest in others, qualities that made everyone around her feel welcome and valued.</p><p>Yvonne was the devoted wife of John J. Gaber, with whom she shared 47 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and partnership. For the past 25 years, they cherished time together at their winter home on Marco Island, Florida, creating treasured memories and enjoying a life they built side by side.</p><p>She is survived by her sister, Judy (Charles) Green; sister-in-law Rose Sciotti; her children, John (Rebecca) Gaber and Darren Gaber; her beloved grandchildren, Justin (Mary Kate) Gaber and Riley Gaber, who were a source of pride and joy, and her nieces and nephews Linda (Tim) Dering, Scott (Donnell) Green and Renee (Brad) Hindall.</p><p>Yvonne dedicated 33 years of her professional life to TI Automotive, formerly Bundy Tubing. She began her career as a shipping clerk and advanced through roles as secretary, inside sales representative, and ultimately sales account manager. She also served as editor of the company newspaper and made a lasting impact by starting Toys for Tots drives at company plants-an initiative that reflected her generous spirit and commitment to helping others.</p><p>Outside of work, Yvonne lived life fully. She loved animals, supported charitable causes, and was well known for her exceptional cooking and gracious entertaining. A natural planner, she delighted in organizing family vacations, gatherings, and activities, always thinking ahead to create memorable experiences for those she loved.</p><p>Yvonne was also adventurous. In the 1970s, she participated in the first all-female Chicago-to-Mackinac Island yacht race, a testament to her courage and pioneering spirit. She shared her love of adventure with her family, introducing them to boating and downhill skiing and encouraging them to embrace new experiences.</p><p>Yvonne will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, leadership, and joyful spirit. Her life was one of purpose, connection, and love, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.</p><p>In lieu of flowers, the family would request that donations be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation (www.komen.org; 877-GO KOMEN) to help eradicate breast cancer.</p><p><br></p>
