<p><p>Domenic A. Luca, 72, of Meriden, CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, December 24th, 2025, after a chronic illness. </p><p><br></p><p>Born August 25th, 1953, he was the son of the late Joseph D. Luca and Lucy F. Colaiacovo. As a life-long resident of Meriden, Dom attended Orville H. Platt High School graduating in 1971. He was a phlebotomist at Meriden Wallingford Hospital before becoming a certified medical laboratory technician at Canberra Clinical Laboratory. After starting a family, Dom switched career paths and worked at Pratt and Whitney for 38 years as an inspector. In 2018, he retired from Pratt and started a couple of hobbies. First and foremost was his yard. He loved gardening and being outside. He also enjoyed fishing with his long-time friend and coworker Al Biachini. Dom looked forward to his yearly vacations with his family to Ocean City, MD and was widely considered a “beach bum”.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his three sons, Gregory Luca and girlfriend, Roza Minas of Amston, CT, Bryan Luca and wife, Danielle of Hebron, CT and Evan Luca and partner, Robert Diaz of West Haven, CT; his four grandchildren, Tyler Luca, Mason Luca, Blake Luca and Evelyn Luca; his sister, Rosemary Smith, of Middlebury, his twin brother, Francis Luca and wife, Karen, of Meriden. He is also survived by his former wife, Sandra Murawski, who remained an important part of his life; his former stepdaughter Amanda Bochenek, and her children, Alexander, Amare, and Alyssa; his first ex-wife, Sharon King and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>Family and friends are invited to call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, CT 06450, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 3 to 5 p.m. A funeral service will begin at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Yale New Haven Hospice Wish Program online at ynhhs.org/health-at-home/about/giving/health-at-home-southeast.
