<p><p>Crystal Jane Austin Munsey, 66, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025. She was born in Mecklenburg County, daughter of the late David and Margaret Medlin Austin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Randy Austin and Susan Smith.<br> <br> Jane was a native Charlottean and an active member of Trinity Baptist Church. She worked in childcare for many years and earned an associate's degree in childhood development because of her love for children. She raised her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a village of family and friends. She was always 'Mama Jane' and 'Maw-Maw' to all that knew her. Jane fought many battles on her journey through life, always with a smile on her face.<br> <br> Ms. Munsey is survived by her children, Donna Munsey (Mike), Crystal Harper (Robert), Ryan Munsey (Rhonda), Joshua Satterfield (Lala), and Michelle Bowling (Wayne); 13 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; her sister, Ann Austin (Mike); her brother, Mark Austin (Myra); and a number of nieces, nephews, and bonus children, including her fur-baby, Nella.<br> <br> A service to celebrate the life of Ms. Munsey will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home, Mount Holly. Pastor David McGuirk will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.<br> <br> Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital by visiting www.stjude.org, or to VIA Hospice by visiting www.viahp.org.
