<p>Michael Wayne Feathers, age, 65, went to be with Jesus, Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, surrounded by his family. Michael was a 1981 graduate of Tennessee High School. He was employed by the State of Tennessee, Dept of Tourism for 37+ years before retiring because of sickness. Michael loved to fish and watch wrestling with his daughter Emily. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Wayne (Bird) and Norma Jean (McFeaters) Feathers and his father-in-law, Fred Salyer, who taught him what Farm living was like.</p><p><br></p><p>Michael is survived by his wife of 33 yrs, Mattie Helen (Salyer) Feathers and his daughter, Emily Feathers. One brother, Jeff Feathers and his wife Robin of Blountville Tn. One uncle, Dale McFeaters and wife Barbara of Colorado. Several nieces and nephews and a host of friends, too many to name.</p><p><br></p><p>A special thank you for all the love and care shown to him during his illness to his nurses with Gentiva Hospice Care and his caregivers, his mother-in-law, who he dearly loved, Ethel Salyer, Norma Jean Branson, Sheila Bright, his sisters in law, Lori Whitaker and Darlene Taylor, Halie Shaffer, who he called his other daughter and Pinkie Shaffer, a dear family friend.</p><p><br></p><p>Services will be held Saturday, Nov 22 at 2pm at Mount Holston Baptist Church in Bluff City TN with his pastor, Bro. Danny Ray Hardin officiating. Visitation will be held 12pm - 2pm at the church. Burial will follow the service at Eastern Heights Cemetery on Old Jonesboro Rd in Bristol TN.</p><p><br></p><p>Pallbearers will be his brother, Jeff Feathers, brothers in law Darrell Salyer, Randall Salyer, Dan Taylor, special friends Mikie Shaffer and Tyler Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews that were like sons to him, Dylan Whitaker, Daniel Salyer, Kenneth Taylor, Matthew Feathers, Jonathan Oaks, JR Houser, family friend and the men of Mount Holston Baptist Church.</p><p><br></p>
