<p>Caroline Babirye (Babs) Nakitende Ssemakula passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025, at her home in Etobicoke, at the age of 50. She was born on May 30, 1975, in Entebbe, Uganda.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p><br></p><p>Carol Babs is predeceased by her beloved mother, Nalongo Nives Namazzi and older sister, Jackie Kyolaba. She is survived by her beloved twin sister, her father, her siblings and many extended family members and friends.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p><br></p><p>Carol Babs will be deeply missed by her family and by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love of life, warmth, sense of humor (olwali) and strength will forever remain in our hearts.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p><br></p><p>The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many and varied medical and support teams that worked with and cared for Carol over the past six and a half years. Specifically, to her circle of care at St. Michael’s hospital and her family doctors at Citrus Medical Center in Etobicoke. Also, grateful thanks are extended to the Uganda community in Toronto and abroad that generously supported Carol Babs financially, emotionally and in-kind.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p><br></p><p>Carol Babs began her career as a sales representative at Simba Telecommunications, Uganda where she discovered her talent and skill for client relationships. Throughout her career, she worked in various fields especially in Canada where the opportunities abounded. She worked in the accounting and financial industries, which was her last assignment before she took ill.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p><br></p><p>Her legacy of resilience, advocacy, tenacity, and commitment to discover new possibilities will continue to live on in ours and many other lives.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p><br></p><p>A Funeral service will be held at Ridley Funeral Home (3080 Lakeshore Blvd West, Etobicoke, ON) on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. and interment following the service.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p><br></p>May 30, 1975 - November 10, 202505/30/197511/10/2025
