Scott Leslie Basinger

Our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to our beloved Scott Leslie Basinger who left this world too soon on October 31st. He was the best father, pappy, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend we could have ever asked for. He was the center of our big and crazy family and will always be remembered for his laughter and the love he had for all of us.

Scott was a simple man who made everyone feel seen. He never missed an opportunity to shake someone’s hand and genuinely loved talking to people and both, telling and listening to stories. He lived his life for his family and was never happier when we were all together. He loved working in the driveway/yard riding his John Deer tractor, and working on all of his equipment. He also had a passion for sports, music, movies and hunting with his favorite being Top Gun.

Scott was a devoted husband and he and his wife had such a special relationship and were always there for each other. Together they built a life filled with laughter, family, and countless memories that will live on forever.

Being a father was, without doubt, his greatest joy. He loved each of them so deeply and they were the reason he fought so hard. There was nothing more important to him than being a good dad. He loved spending time with them or just talking on the phone. He made each of them feel special and was always there for advice, encouragement and life lessons. He was present and loved nothing more than going to their sporting events and sharing in their accomplishments. He was also an amazing stepfather. They could not have asked for a better role model in their lives. He cared deeply for them and was so proud of them. He never missed an opportunity to tell anyone who would listen about all of his kids and their accomplishments.

He was so proud of being “Pappy Scott” to three wonderful granddaughters. He loved being a part of their lives. And loved watching their soccer games, reading a book, and hearing about Mae Mae. He was so looking forward to watching them grow up.

He was also a loving son, brother, and uncle. The loss of his father at an early age was devastating and something he never got over. He loved his mother and sister deeply and tried to be there for them like his father would have been. They were so close and had such a special relationship. He loved his brother-in -law like a brother and loved talking and playing golf with him. His niece and nephew were so special to him He loved them so much and was so proud of them.

Scott was also a devoted friend. He was blessed with good friends who really cared about him and supported him throughout the years. His other love was golf and spending time with his friends on his golf league, golf trips, outings, playing on the weekends and playing with his kids.

He was also so proud to work for the power company. He never missed a chance to tell anyone that he worked for the power company. It was part of his identity. He loved meeting and talking with people while on the job and knowing that he had helped them. His coworkers were his brothers and he felt such a bond with them and felt so lucky to work beside them.

We will miss his laughter, his stories, his hugs, and his voice - but most of all, we will miss the way he loved us all so effortlessly and completely. His love will live forever in our hearts, in our memories, and in the lives he touched. Our hope is that we can continue his love and honor him in the way he deserved.

Predeceased by his father, Leslie Basinger; his paternal grandparents, Glen and Geraldine Basinger and his maternal grandparents, Benny and Mildred King.

He is survived by his wife, Kelly Shaner Basinger; his mother, Carol King Basinger His Children :

Hannah Basinger

Cain Basinger

Conner Basinger

Tyler Onusko and wife Sara

Caitlin Onusko and wife Brooke

Evan Onusko and wife Nicole

Zachary Onusko

His Grandchildren

Collyns Onusko

Bexley Onusko

Ivy Onusko

Sister

Tina Kosisko and husband Joe Kosisko

Niece

Hailey Kosisko

Nephew

Aidan Kosisko

His Special friends;

Darryl, Jim, Jimmy, Bill and a special uncle Larry and Brent, Shawn and Scott

Family and friends will be received from 4-8 P.M.
