<p><p>Mattie Lou Taylor Ashby, 85, of 470 Tanglewood Circle, Roxboro, died Saturday, November 1, 2025. Born in Person County, Mrs. Ashby was the daughter of the late Tommie and Minnie Sue Walker Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Earlie, Burnice and Frank Taylor and her sisters, Lila Maude Pulliam, Mallie Chambers and Lillian McKee. Mrs. Ashby retired from Eaton and was a member of Mt. Zion Global Methodist Church.</p><p><br></p><p>Mrs. Ashby is survived by her husband Chelves Lane Ashby; two children, Rick Ashby (Beth), of Mebane and Gina Murray (Donnie), of Roxboro; four grandchildren, Taylor Ashby, Summer Ashby Perry, Travis Brooks and Chelsea Lewis; six great-grandchildren, Kate Ashby, June Ashby, Violet Perry, Cameron Brooks, Olivia Brooks and Charlie Lewis.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday at the Brooks &amp; White Chapel by the Rev. Patrick Sinclair. Burial will follow in Person Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10-11AM Wednesday prior to the service at the Brooks &amp; White Chapel and at other times at the home of Gina and Donnie, 31 Mariners Point Dr., Roxboro.</p><p><br></p><p>Pallbearers will be Bobby Painter, Mark Jones, Colin Lewis, Colin Perry, Ray Long and Jay Foushee.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorials may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 3320 US HWY 1, Ste C, Franklinton, NC, 27525.</p><p><br></p><p>Condolences may be sent to www.brooksandwhite.com.</p></p>
