<p>Joyce J. Garverick, 89, of Piqua, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 24,2025, at Ohio’s Hospice of Miami County in Troy, OH. She was born July 3, 1936, in Troy, Ohio, to the late Howard and Klorene (Penrod) Ellis. Joyce married James Garverick and he preceded her in death January 1986.</p><p><br></p><p>Joyce will be missed and remembered by her son: Brian C. Henderson of Sardinia, OH.one granddaughter: Jodi (John) Bereczky, two great grandchildren: Kaylyn Henderson, Kasandra Bereczky, and three great- great grandchildren: Silas, Sienna, and Wyatt.</p><p><br></p><p>Joyce was a 1953 graduate of Troy High School. She worked for The Dog House in Troy, OH and for Brel Aire Lanes in Piqua, OH. While she enjoyed many things throughout her life, she really enjoyed helping others, she was a very caring person and was proud to be a big supporter of the Democratic party. She loved to do words searches, make something beautiful by cross stitching, and even share some of her tasty strawberry tea, which won a plaque at the Troy Strawberry Festival.</p><p><br></p><p>Graveside services will be held at 10:30am. Thursday October 2,2025, at Forest Hills Cemetery in Tipp City, OH with Chaplain Rick Nicodemus officiating.
