<p>Jeanette DeFrank</p><p>Celebrating a Life Filled with Love and Family</p><p><br></p><p>Jeanette DeFrank, 91, of West Caldwell, NJ, passed away peacefully at the home she cherished on Friday, September 19, 2025. </p><p><br></p><p>Born at Flushing Hospital in Queens, NY, Jeanette was the beloved daughter of Edward and Rose (Beams) Grotz. She spent her childhood in Whitestone, Queens, where her joyful spirit began to shine.</p><p><br></p><p>Jeanette met the love of her life, Benny DeFrank, at a roller rink in Belleville, NJ. Their love story became legendary when Jeanette, with her vibrant energy and determination, caught up to the fastest guy on the team and proudly held the title "Roller Derby Queen of Queens." Together, they built a beautiful life and moved to West Caldwell, NJ, sixty years ago to raise their family.</p><p><br></p><p>Family was always at the heart of Jeanette’s world. She was a devoted mother to four children, a loving grandmother to fourteen grandchildren, and a proud great-grandmother to thirteen great-grandchildren. Her home was a place filled with warmth, laughter, and cherished memories that will live on through those she loved most.</p><p><br></p><p>Sadly, she was predeceased by her youngest daughter, Diana Bitting, in 2013. Surviving are her beloved husband, Benny DeFrank; devoted children, Richard DeFrank and his wife, Kathy, Donna Caponigro and Edward DeFrank; loving son-in-law, Mark Bitting; cherished grandchildren, Anthony, Gina, Taryn, Giana, Richelle, Victoria, Haley, Danica, Janelle, Dominique, Alex, Olivia, Kayla and Anthony; also thirteen adored great grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at the Garrett Jones Memorial Home, 45 Roseland Avenue, Roseland, NJ (at Shook ~ Farmer Funeral Home). Interment will follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Caldwell, NJ.</p><p><br></p><p>If so desired, donations in her memory given to the West Essex First Aid Squad would be deeply appreciated.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>February 24, 1934 - September 19, 202502/24/193409/19/2025
