<p>Marvin Little, 91, passed away at the home on August 11, 2025.</p><p><br></p><p>A funeral service to honor and commemorate his life will be held on Saturday, August 16 at 3 pm at St James UMC.</p><p><br></p><p>Marvin was born on November 9, 1933 in Winterville, NC to Benjamin Frank and Stella Norman Little. Marvin was a 1952 graduate of Winterville High School and a 1956 graduate of East Carolina University. In 1957, he married Laura Frances Johnson. They lived in Greensboro, Raleigh before settling in Greenville NC in 1966, welcoming their daughters Teresa Laura in 1963 and Susan Denise in 1965.</p><p><br></p><p>He faithfully served the citizens of North Carolina for many years as an accountant for the Office of State Auditor, ensuring that public funds were spent in a legal and appropriate manner. He retired after 40 years of service with N.C. He was also a lifelong and faithful member of St. James United Methodist Church where he served over 23 years as Treasurer, he served on Administrative Board and Methodist Men where he was presented a special Life Membership award. He was also a youth counselor. He enjoyed his Friday mornings at 6:30 am bible study with a group of men. He loved being a part of Community Bible Study (CBS). He tried to have perfect attendance and received lots of books because of this. He enjoyed his time going to the meetings in person and online. He was proud to be a member of Greenville Mason Lodge #284.</p><p><br></p><p>Marvin and Laura enjoyed family traveled trips and enjoyed leisurely weekends and holidays at the Little Family gathering place at Crystal Beach on the Pamlico River where he served as President of CBIC and Treasurer of Friends of Crystal Beach.</p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by an infant son Russell Glenn Little, and daughter Teresa Laura Little, his siblings Louise Little Pierce, Norman Little, William Little, Mary Elizabeth Little, Franklin Little, Marjorie Little Everett and Maylon Little, His sister-in-law Lula Johnson Lewis and brothers-in-law R.E.L Johnson Jr., Madison E. Johnson and Louie H. Johnson. </p><p><br></p><p>Marvin is survived by his beloved wife Dr. Laura Johnson Little and daughter Susan Denise Little of the home; siblings, Jean Little Cherry (Dr. Jack) of Greenville, and John Little (Marlene) of Raleigh; sisters-in-law, Dr. Linda Little of Raleigh; Emmie Johnson of Dover and Terri Johnson of Farro. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Teresa L.
