<p>Bernardita M. Galolo, 95, of Richmond VA passed away on Tuesday, August 5th, 2025. She was the daughter of Eleuterio Galolo and Carmen Margate Galolo. She is survived by her sister Norberta Quinanola; nieces Derbe Quinanola, Zenia Galolo, Eva Aweau, Joy Pascua and Menchu Dizon Orais; nephews Zandro Galolo and his wife Alma Galolo, Zalde Galolo and Dennis Galolo and his Maryann Galolo; and grandchildren Jan Jan Quinanola and his wife Claire Quinanola, Jeff Quinanola, Gladys Quinanola, Caleb Quinanola, Micah Aweau, Breanna Aweau, Renee Galolo, Ryan Galolo, Tiffany Galolo, Kobe Galolo, Timothy Galolo, Chester Nimitz Dizon and Elijah Dizon.</p><p><br></p><p>Bernardita, affectionately known as Edith, was born in Malitbog, Southern Leyte, Philippines in 1930. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Education and was a high school teacher in Southern Leyte. She also worked as a secretary clerk at the city hall in Manila before moving to the United States in 1970. In Virginia, she worked as a record specialist in Social services before retiring.</p><p><br></p><p>Edith was one of the pioneers of the Asian-American United Church of Christ and a member of the church council. She was widely known for her enthusiasm and hospitality. A devout Christian, she was a loving grandmother, a warm, supportive and nurturing auntie to many, and a loyal, compassionate and steadfast friend.</p><p><br></p>
