<p><p>Thomas Richard Groome, of Duncannon, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at his home with his loving wife and daughter by his side. </p><p><br></p><p>Born on December 1, 1952, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late Donald S. and Jean C. Plouse Groome.</p><p><br></p><p>Tom retired after 41 1/2 years from UPS where he was an over-the-road delivery truck driver. A 1970 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School, Tom served with the Air National Guard after high school. He loved to go to Myrtle Beach and enjoyed baseball and softball. Tom’s world, however, was centered on his children and grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>Tom is survived by his beloved wife of 23 years, Cheryl A. Thomson Groome, whom he married on December 31, 2002; a daughter, Jamie Mosche; three sons, Marshall, Jordan and Zane; two grandchildren that he raised as his own, Isaac and Leaha; 5 additional grandchildren; two brothers, Timothy and Gary (Sherri); and one sister, Ann Atanasoff (Ted).</p><p><br></p><p>A service to celebrate Tom’s life will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, 3:00 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with Chaplain Alan R. Echard of Hospice of Central Pennsylvania, officiating.
