<p>Malcolm Pritchard, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and devoted servant to his community, passed away peacefully at his home in Central Village on July 15, 2025, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was 78 years old.</p><p><br></p><p>Born on April 7, 1947, in Hartford, Connecticut, Malcolm was the youngest of eleven children born to the late Clarence and Jessie May (Blowers) Pritchard. His life was one of steadfast faith, courage, and dedication to his loved ones and country.</p><p><br></p><p>Malcolm honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and later continued his service in the Connecticut Army National Guard. A man deeply committed to his community; he was a proud past member of the Central Village Fire Department and a longtime supporter of the American Legion Post 91 Ambulance Fund.</p><p><br></p><p>On September 6, 1969, Malcolm married the love of his life, Mary Nicolini. Together, they built a life centered around faith, family, and service. He is survived by his devoted wife Mary; his daughters, Kathleen Stewart and Eileen Grimshaw; and his cherished granddaughters, Kayla Throop, Nichole Perry, Moriah Rahaim, and Chelsea “Endora” Roden. Malcolm was a proud great-grandfather to Bellamy, Ezra, CJ, and Levi, who were the lights of his later years.</p><p><br></p><p>He is also survived by his brothers, Barry Pritchard and his wife Beth of Missouri, and Leonard Pritchard of North Carolina, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends who will miss his humor, strength, and steady presence.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, Malcolm was predeceased by his siblings: Norman Pritchard, Anita Kearnes, Fannie Hall, Rosemary Perkins, Roger Pritchard, Elaine “Brenda” Scata, Virginia Linsley, and Gail Pritchard.</p><p><br></p><p>Malcolm’s family extends heartfelt thanks to the staff at Villa Maria Nursing Home and Beacon Hospice for their compassionate and faithful care.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, donations in Malcolm’s memory may be made to the Central Village Fire Department, 53 Black Hill Road, Central Village, CT 06332, or the American Legion Post 91 Ambulance Fund, 30 Norwich Road, Plainfield, CT 06374.</p><p><br></p><p>A celebration of Malcolm’s life will be held at a later date. The family invites all who knew and loved him to come together to honor his life and legacy.</p><p><br></p><p>Though he has left this earthly life, we take comfort in knowing Malcolm is now at peace in the presence of the Lord. His love lives on in each heart he touched.</p>
