<p>Julie Evelyn Becerra, 87, of San Pablo passed away from heart failure on July 13, 2025.</p><p><br></p><p>She was born in San Francisco in 1938 to Elmer Benson and Wilma Benson and grew up in the San Francisco Bay area. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1956. In 1957 she met and married Augustin Soverano Becerra. They had two sons, Gerald Wilmer Becerra and Lawrence Augustin Becerra. She was widowed on January 29, 1968. She worked as a waitress, retail clerk and prep cook. She also took continuing education courses at Skyline College.</p><p><br></p><p>In 1989 she purchased a home and moved to San Pablo. There she became a caregiver for disabled and elderly people. She was active at the San Pablo Senior Center. Julie loved gardening, her family and getting together with her friends from the senior center.</p><p><br></p><p>Julie is survived by her brother, William Benson, her two sons, Gerald Becerra and Lawrence Becerra and her grandson Anthony Becerra</p><p><br></p><p>A memorial service will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday July 19 at the Wilson & Kratzer Mission Bells Chapel. The chapel is located at 13644 San Pablo Avenue, San Pablo, CA 94806.</p>May 20, 1938 - July 13, 202505/20/193807/13/2025
