Flossie Imogene Johnson
<p><p>Flossie Imogene Johnson, age 73, passed away in Columbus, Ohio surrounded by, and in the arms of loved ones. Flossie was born in Urbancrest, Ohio on April 26, 1952 to Ida Mae Brockman. Flossie lived to see 26,662 sunrises during her lifetime; a lifetime filled with accomplishments rooted in her desire to serve and care for others. She graduated from East High School and later Bliss College in Columbus, Ohio.</p> <p>Flossie went on to serve as a proud member of the United States Marine Corps. After her service, Flossie returned to Columbus where she devoted herself to raising her three children. Flossie spent nearly two decades supporting her children by helping those struggling to make ends meet find the assistance they needed as a Case Worker employed by Franklin County in Columbus, <br> Ohio.</p> <p>Flossie became an avid gardener after she purchased her first home in Bexley, Ohio in 1994 (which she turned into a mini outdoor sanctuary). She went on to continue being a loving and fierce <br> Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother.</p> <p>Flossie is preceded in death by her daughter Danielle Johnson, mother Ida Mae Brockman, father, Caleb Johnson, sisters: Melvina Lawrence, Gloria Morton, Ann Johnson, Maureen Fore; brothers: Russell Johnson, Grant, Maurice, and Neil Johnson.</p> <p>Flossie is survived by her two children Michael (Allison) Johnson and Aletta Kay (Robert) Collins. She is also survived by siblings: (sisters) Gayle Hogan, Stephanie (George) Parks, and Iris <br> Sheridan; (brothers): David Johnson and Bradley Brockman, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.</p> <p>Flossie leaves behind a legacy that consists of 9 grandchildren: Dymonica (Eugene) Agyekum, Saughnelle Edmondson, Kaliyah Collins, Michkayla Edmondson, Branden Edmondson, Maurice Edmondson, Daniel Collins, Kamara Collins, Kaden Johnson, and 7 great grandchildren. Flossie is also survived by her former husband Bertram Walker whom she raised four of her grandchildren with following the passing of her daughter (Danielle).<br> A celebration of Flossie's life will be held with military honors 12PM Saturday, July 19th at <b>Smoot Funeral Services </b>, 4019 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43227, Family will receive friends 11AM until time of service<br> The Johnson family will accept flowers or cards which can be sent to the Smoot Funeral Service address above.
