<p><p>Lloyd J. Anderson, 80, of Forest City, passed away on July 11, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Center in Forest City, Iowa.</p><p><br></p><p>A visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Schott Funeral Homes-Forest City Chapel, 505 North Clark Street, Forest City.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, July 18, 2025 at the Schott Funeral Home in Forest City.</p><p><br></p><p>Burial will be held in Oakland Cemetery in Forest City with Military Honors performed by the Forest City American Legion Honor Guard Post #121. </p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Winnebago County Relay for Life Fund in Memory of Lloyd.</p><p><br></p><p>Lloyd Junior Anderson was born on January 11, 1945 in Forest City, Iowa. He was the son of Lloyd A. and Beverly K. (Blair) Anderson. He attended school in Forest City and after graduating from high school, enlisted in the United States Army, serving until his honorable discharge in 1969.</p><p><br></p><p>He was married to Mary Haan on September 2, 1967 in the St James Catholic Church in Forest City, IA. Together they raised three sons: Jay, Tommy Joe, and Trent.</p><p><br></p><p>Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Lloyd worked for Great Plains as a bus driver for the Forest City Community School District, and later at Fleetguard in Lake Mills where he retired from in 2006.</p><p><br></p><p>Lloyd loved his cars, woodworking and traveling. He took great pride in caring for and maintaining the vehicles he owned. Woodworking projects also consumed his time, with many small projects and one of his biggest projects, building a house for him and his family in the early 90’s. Lloyd and Mary also enjoyed traveling together, visiting every state west of the Mississippi, as well as frequently visiting Lake Superior and Texas in the winters.</p><p><br></p><p>Basketball was another big part of his life; he thrived on the competitiveness of recreational ball. He also couldn’t get enough of the comradery in the Alumni basketball tournament, which he played in for the class of 63’ for many years.</p><p><br></p><p>Lloyd is survived by his wife, Mary of Forest City, IA; sons, Jay (Ginny) of Leland, IA, Tommy Joe (Tanya) of Exira, IA, and Trent (Melissa) of Forest City, IA; his sister, Cathy Brown of Lake Mills, IA; his grandchildren, T.J., Tray, Tasha, Braxton, Jessica, John, Jordan, and Peyton; and his 11 great grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Beverly.</p></p>
