Marianne G. Farrant

“People will forget what you did. People will forget what you said, But People will never forget how you made them feel”- Maya Angelou

Marianne Farrant will always be remembered for making everyone feel special, loved and adored. If you knew her, you believed that you were the most special person in her life because she truly embraced everyone around her.

Marianne G. Farrant, 68, of Canfield, Ohio, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Born January 28, 1957, in Youngstown, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Marshall John Farrant Sr. and Natalie Grosso Farrant Hamrock.

Marianne worked for 35 years as a bookkeeper in the billing department at St. Elizabeth Hospital, where she kept her coworkers laughing straight through to her retirement.

She was a woman who loved to have a good time and was known for throwing a good pool party with the best food in the area. Her Sunday sauce was always a hit, as were her decadent layered desserts and signature cookies. She earned the nickname “Aunt Cookie” from her great nephews and nieces, but to most others she was known as May-May. The nickname “Mimi” was reserved for her sweet granddaughter, Stella, who was the light of her life. When she wasn’t hosting, she enjoyed spending time with friends and family, playing Bingo, babysitting, hanging out on the beach, and dancing until her flip-flops wore out (or she just took them off and danced without them!).

Marianne is survived by her son, Nick Dunn and granddaughter Stella of Tampa Florida; brothers, Gary Farrant (Betsy) of Canfield, Ohio, and Anthony Farrant (Audrey) of Houston, Texas; she shared a residence with, and was virtually inseparable from her niece Kayla Farrant and new “grandson” Cameron. She also leaves behind many nephews, and nieces and great nephews and nieces, all of whom adored her warm hugs and crazy laugh.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by, her sister Linda Farrant; brothers, Jim Farrant; and Marshall John Farrant Jr.

A celebration of life for friends and family will take place on Friday, July 11, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm and the Aut Mori Gratto Hall 563 N. Belle Vista Ave, Youngstown, Ohio 44509. A service will be at 4:30 pm during the celebration of life.

If you know Marianne Farrant, you know she will be watching from Heaven, laughing at the antics down here, wiping tears with angel kisses, and likely saying “ I know that’s right” while she raises her glass. We will all share stories of her for years to come, but mostly we will remember how wonderful she made us all feel.

Online condolences can be given at www.kirilafh.com.
