<p><p>James “Jim” “Highroller” Floyd Taylor</p> <p>James “Jim” “Highroller” Floyd Taylor, 79, passed away peacefully at 7:13 a.m. on Friday, July 4, 2025, with his family by his side.</p> <p>He was born on November 14, 1945, in Carrollton, Illinois, the son of the late William and Elizabeth (McIntyre) Taylor.</p> <p>Jim married Susan Johnson on September 25, 1983. Together, they shared 42 years of marriage and 48 years of cherished memories, love, and laughter.</p> <p>He spent 35 years as an over-the-road truck driver—a career he took great pride in. Earlier in life, Jim also worked in logging and as a deckhand on river barges. He had a lifelong passion for fast engines and loud cars, especially enjoying his time driving stock cars. But more than anything, Jim treasured time spent with his family and friends.</p> <p>He is survived by his children: Ty (Vickie) Johnson of Jerseyville, Nita Taylor of Alton, Joey Brackett of Bunker Hill, and Sharron (Greg) Scoggins of Shipman; five grandchildren: Tyler and Carson Johnson of Jerseyville, Cassandra (Jeremy) Cope of Jerseyville, Alicia (Scotty) Miller of Jerseyville, and Jimmy Taylor of Alton; three great-grandsons: Bentley, Charley, and Keenan; a special nephew, Patrick (Judy) Johnson; and many extended family members and dear friends.</p> <p>In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin Brackett.</p> <p>Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m., Saturday July 12, 2025 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.</p> <p>Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.</p> <p>Memories and condolences may be shared at www.crawfordfunerals.com.</p> </p>
