Yvonne Marie Zachman

Yvonne Marie Zachman was 33 years old, born on November 8, 1991, and passed away July 3, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Joseph and Yvonne Sadey and Barbara Wolske. She is survived by her parents, Rick and Susan Zachman; sister, Angela Robison (Michael); grandfather Edgar Zachman; uncles Anthony Sadey and Garry Zachman; aunts Jeannine Nichols (John), Joanne Karim (George), Trudy Zachman, Cindy Gibbs, and Shirley Zachman.

Yvonne Marie Zachman was born on November 8, 1991, in San Clemente, California, to her loving parents, Rick and Susan (Sadey) Zachman. She was the cherished older sister of Angela Marie Robison (Michael), and together they shared a close and lifelong bond.

Diagnosed with a brain tumor at just 3 years old, Yvonne was a 30-year childhood cancer survivor whose life was defined by unwavering determination. She faced immense challenges—re-learning how to walk, talk, read, and write—and spent many years in physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Every step forward required strength and perseverance, and though nothing came easy, Yvonne never stopped fighting. Her resilience was as remarkable as her spirit.

From an early age, Yvonne’s bright spirit and joyful heart shined through. As a baby, she was entered into the Miss American Starlet Princess 1992 Baby Contest in Los Angeles, California; where she won second place and a trophy for her radiant beauty and unforgettable smile.

Yvonne moved with her family to Ohio in 1993 and graduated from Medina High School in 2010. During her school years and beyond, she attended several special camps that brought her joy, new friendships, and unforgettable memories, including Camp Quality in Ohio, Camp Sunshine in Maine, and Eagle Mount Big Sky Camp in Montana.

Yvonne's life was filled with beloved traditions, including baking Christmas cookies, building gingerbread houses, carving pumpkins for Halloween, coloring Easter eggs, and making her signature bunny cakes. One of her favorite traditions was "birthday week," a full seven days of celebrations filled with fun activities, special treats, and surprises —something she eagerly looked forward to every year.

Her faith was a meaningful part of her life. Yvonne attended the Jesus Prom at Northside Church annually for almost ten years, an event she treasured. She also found joy in writing heartfelt letters to God, often expressing her thoughts and prayers through written word.

Yvonne had a deep love for arts and crafts, movies, and music—each an outlet to express her creativity and joyful spirit. Of all her hobbies, coloring was her favorite. She would spend hours thoughtfully choosing colors and carefully filling in each page, pouring love and intention into every picture she made. Her drawings were more than just art—they were gifts from the heart. Yvonne rarely kept her creations for herself; instead, she joyfully gave them away to family, friends, caregivers, and even new acquaintances. Each picture was a way of saying, "I love you," "I'm thinking of you," or simply, "You're special to me." Over the years, her handmade cards and colorful drawings became treasured keepsakes to those lucky enough to receive them. Many still hang on fridges, sit on bedside tables, or are tucked safely away in memory boxes. Her artwork was a reflection of who she was—gentle, thoughtful, and full of love. Through her pictures, Yvonne found a beautiful way to connect with others and leave behind a legacy of kindness that continues to brighten lives.

Throughout her life, Yvonne experienced many adventures. She began traveling with her family as early as 18 months old, visiting many national parks, including the Grand Canyon, Bryce, Zion, Capitol Reef, White Sands, Acadia, and the Smoky Mountains. Some of her favorite travel experiences included whale and dolphin watching in Dana Point, climbing a rock wall in Maine, planting a tree in Montana, rafting on the Yellowstone River, and camping and horseback riding in Big Sky. She slept in a teepee in Utah, saw the sea lions and seals in La Jolla, took a Jeep tour of Hollywood, and visited the Ozarks in Missouri and the Outer Banks in North Carolina. She found joy in seeing chickens roaming free in Key West and alligators in Georgia. She even tried her luck gambling in Las Vegas and New Orleans and
enjoyed fresh lobster in Maine. Her happiest destinations were Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida. She also spent a magical week at Give Kids the World Village in Florida. Another favorite spot was the Christmas Inn Hotel in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, where every room was beautifully decorated for the holidays—her favorite time of year.

Yvonne had a few favorite places to eat, including Red Lobster, Arby’s, McDonald’s, and Hibachi. She loved her Sunday morning blueberry pancakes and cherished her afternoon coffee. Most of all, she loved sharing joy with others—whether through a handmade card, a colorful drawing, or a heartwarming hug.

One of the most joyful moments in Yvonne’s life was standing proudly as the Maid of Honor at her sister Angela’s wedding in 2023. It was a role she embraced with deep love and excitement. Dressed beautifully in yellow and beaming with pride, Yvonne walked down the aisle, arms linked with her cousins Jenna and Gina, and celebrated every moment of the special day. One of her favorite memories was sharing a dance to the song “Stand By Me” with her new brother- in-law, Michael, whom she adored. Their dance was filled with laughter, love, and a few happy tears—a moment the family will forever hold dear.

Yvonne was deeply loved by her extended family, including many aunts, uncles, and cousins who held her close in their hearts. She brought joy to every family gathering with her sweet smile, gentle hugs, and thoughtful nature. Whether it was sharing a laugh, celebrating a holiday, or simply sitting together, Yvonne made everyone feel special. Her bond with her cousins was especially dear—full of play, connection, and shared memories that will be treasured forever. Her presence was a shining light within the family, and she will be lovingly remembered by each and every one of them.

Yvonne lived a life marked by resilience, wonder, and love. She touched countless lives with her kindness, creativity, and unwavering spirit. Though her journey included many challenges, she faced each one with courage and grace, and her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Yvonne was a true angel on this earth—gentle, kind, and full of light. She carried with her a beautiful innocence that touched everyone she met, reminding those around her of what truly matters: love, faith, joy, and connection. Her spirit was pure, her heart open, and her presence a gift to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her favorite flower, the Forget-Me-Not, could not have been more fitting. Small yet striking, delicate yet enduring, it blooms quietly with a powerful message: love remembered, bonds unbroken, and memories that never fade. Much like the flower she adored, Yvonne will forever hold a place in the hearts of those who loved her—never forgotten, always cherished.

Family will receive friends at the Mallchok Funeral Home, 5660 Ridge Rd., Parma, OH, Friday, July 11, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. Trisagion Friday at 7:30 p.m. Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, July 12th, 2025 at St. George Orthodox Church, 2587 W. 14th Street, Cleveland, OH 44109 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow a St. Theodosius Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Yvonne’s memory to organizations close to her heart: the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Give Kids the World Village, or Camp Quality Ohio. These organizations brought joy, hope, and unforgettable experiences to Yvonne and continue to do the same for countless children and families.
