Clyde “Ronnie” Buford, age 81, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, just ten days shy of his 82nd birthday. Born on July 15, 1943, to the late Robert “Bob” Buford and Inez Gossett, Ronnie lived a full life marked by laughter, wisdom, hard work, and deep love for his family and friends.

Ronnie proudly retired from Georgia Power after 34 years of dedicated service as a journeyman mechanic. He was not only known for his skill and work ethic but also for his leadership—serving as shop steward and later as president of the IBEW local union, where he fiercely advocated for his fellow workers. A man of sharp wit and a boundless sense of humor, Ronnie had a special gift for offering sage advice—always wrapped in a story and often ending in a good laugh. He loved to “get lost and tell lies,” a phrase that perfectly captured his love for adventure, storytelling, and a good laugh. Ronnie found joy in many simple pleasures: playing a good round of golf, swapping stories with his friends at the Beer Barrel, and most importantly, spending quality time with his beloved family. The kind of man who never met a stranger, Ronnie had a rare ability to make everyone around him feel at ease and welcome, and his presence was a bright spot in many lives.

Ronnie’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and loyalty. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Those left behind to remember his loving spirit are his three devoted children, Tod Buford (Beth), Sissie Horne (Steve), and Jody Buford (Ashley); his loving grandchildren, Kiah Buford (Rachel), Kipp Buford (Hannah), Will Kelley (Taylor), Emma Price (Cord), Haley Merritt (Blake), and Joy Park (Joe); his cherished great-grandchildren, Kimberlyn “Bea” Buford, Corbyn Price, Graycen Price, Hazel Merritt, Logan Merritt, and June Park; his sister, Glenda Burchett; his nieces Debbie Wood, Connie Vick, and Jill Wood; his bonus family, Lynn, Vivian, Clayton, and Lee; as well as numerous bonus grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and many beloved friends.

Ronnie is preceded in death by his parents Bob Buford and Inez Gossett, his first wife and mother of his children, Brenda Buford (formerly Ballinger), and his second wife, Patty Buford (formerly Vick).

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at 1:00pm, in the chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, South Chapel, with Barry Henderson officiating.
